BRAIN TUMORS
Brain tumors are among the neoplasm showing a very good response to HD88. In the last years more than 100 patients with diagnosed brain tumors have been treated with HD88. Results among 68 of them are analized. Among them, there were 20 astrocytomas, 14 glioblastomas, 7 meningoblastomas, 6 meduloblastomas, 6 craniopharyngeomas and 15 – others. Among them 12 are under the age of 20. All these patients have been operated, treated with radiotherapy and the presence of a recurrence has been established.
We accepted 3 groups of symptoms:
• Subjective: headache, nausea, vomiting and seizures;
• Neurologic: motor weakness, disturbances of coordination, stance and gait;
• CT scan (computed axial tomography): tumor size.
A positive response to the treatment with HD88 was assessed only if symptoms in two of these three groups were improved. Among all 68 patient treated with HD88 we assessed a positive response in 52 of them (76.47%). Usually, the improvement lasted for months and years.
We present the medical history of four our patients as an illustration of the effect of HD88:
L.G., 41 years old woman.
Diagnosis: Astrocytoma in the left frontal region of the brain.
Operated - October, 1990. Radiotherapy applied in 1991. Recurrence found in 1991 with seizures, speech disturbances (expressive aphasia) and left hand palsy. CT scan determinate tumor in the left frontal and temporal region of the brain, 1.5 x 2 cm in size. Treatment with HD88 started February, 1992. Gradually speech function recovered, the palsy faded away and the seizures rarefied and ceased. CT scan investigation in February, 1996 discovers dissapierence of the brain tumor. Since 1994 the patient is generally well and is working.
M.G., 24 yeas old man.
Diagnosis: Meduloblastoma
In 1990 the patient was dignosed with a tumor in the brain (Meduloblastoma), leading to a spastic paralysis of the right leg and consecutive full immobilization. HD88 treatment started 1990. After 6 months the paralysis faded away, followed by a full recovery. M.G. graduated the Medical Academy and is currently working as an oncologist.
S.T., 21 years old woman.
Diagnosis: Ewing's sarcoma.
The diagnosis was revealed in 1997. Therapy started after an operation and applied chemotherapy. The patient was with а creeping paralysis of the legs, leading to her partial immobilization - she was in a wheel-chair. After 6 years therapy with HD88 S.T. has the ability to walk independently, entirely alone by herself.
